Photography | the little things

Little things, lost things, longed for things, remembered things, forgotten things and some of the shit you really don't need.  I suppose I am guilty of image hoarding, if thats a thing. A couple of years back my archives suffered a major catastrophe and I ended up ditching a few thousand prints and negatives.  Thankfully I had gotten around to scan the vast majority of them and thankfully many of the damaged ones were things like old test prints and rolls of film that had been trialed through new cameras and basically spare parts that I quite honestly could have put in the bin years ago.  Why did I hang on? Fuck knows!

However, sometimes I get a feeling or some infantile emotional attachment to the most banal of images because I might like one little thing in the image and the image as a whole holds little attention (Ah, the little things strike again).

I'm not just talking about material things, but also situations and moments that may be small or short in time, but seem to stick out for some reason.

I have to re-think what images are important to me and why, while trying to make sense of it all.
